Selection Criteria for Demonstration Cities
Cities implementing demonstration projects must fulfill certain criteria to ensure a minimum set of conditions required for the successful execution of the BUS initiative. The initial criteria proposed within and outside the municipality are summarised herein.

Burkina Faso
One of the demonstration cities in the BUS project in Burkina Faso is Bobo-Dioulasso. More information on the Bobo-Dioulasso project can be found in this folder.
Sri Lanka
The primary objective of this initiative is to strengthen the capability of the Kotte and Wattale Municipal Councils, and their partners, to develop effective public, popular, private partnerships to plan, improve and deliver basic urban services in un(der)-served areas. This will be achieved through assessing past demonstration projects, developing pro-poor and up-scaling strategies through participatory mechanisms, and packaging investment proposals for capital investment funding.
A secondary objective is to support an Anchoring Institution (AI) which would both share its expertise and learn from the demonstration process.
