| Katharina Welle is contributing to the symposium with a plenary presentation 'Monitoring performance or performing monitoring? - Lessons on the politics of monitoring' on Wednesday 10 April 2013. Katharina is an independent consultant who specialises in the interface between research, policy and practice of development. Her key expertise is in water and sanitation in the South. Since 2003, she has carried out applied research, reviews and evaluations related to water supply, sanitation and hygiene related to politics and governance, aid relationships in the sector and on sector-related monitoring and evaluation, including on Water Point Mapping. Katharina is currently affiliated with the STEPS Centre at the University of Sussex as a PhD student. Prior to that, she was a member of the Water Policy Programme at the Overseas Development Institute, and worked for the Water and Sanitation Program of the World Bank in Kenya, Yemen and Ethiopia. |
