Topic leader: Joseph Pearce, WaterAid

Joseph Pearce, WaterAid is the topic leader of Symposium Topic 4: ICT for monitoring sustainable service delivery. He is a water and sanitation governance specialist with nine years professional and academic experience in Africa and Asia. He has designed, developed, managed and supported WASH projects for governments, NGOs, and academic institutions utilising Information and Communication Technologies in Angola, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Uganda, in addition to remote support for further 30 countries. Joseph is a Technical Advisor leading WaterAid’s work on sector performance monitoring and mapping. He leads the design and development of the Water Point Mapper – a free and publically available software launched in 2010 and since downloaded in over 160 countries. Joseph holds postgraduate degrees in Water Science and Governance from King’s College London.
