| Kerstin Danert, RWSN is the topic leader of Symposium Topic 2: Country-led and country-wide monitoring of rural and small towns water supplies. She has fifteen years of experience as a rural water supply specialist with particular skills in performance monitoring, improving cost-effective water well provision and technology adoption. Over the years, Dr. Danert has managed and undertaken thematic country studies and has published guidelines and case studies with respect to these themes. Over a seven year period from 2005, she supported the Government of Uganda in developing and improving their Water and Environment Sector Performance Measurement System. She has provided advisory and capacity development services to national and local Governments, NGOs and the private sector, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. As the Director of the Rural Water Supply Network (RWSN) secretariat, Dr. Danert is committed to building and strengthening thematic networks. She proactively connects different organisations and individuals in order to encourage collaboration and mutual learning. Linked to this, she has extensive experience in documentation as well as supporting others to document their experiences of domestic and agricultural water supplies in rural areas. |
