In addition to the scheduled three-day symposium programme, we will host evening sessions as well as on Monday and Friday during the day. A closed meeting with the African Ministers’ Council on Water  (AMCOW), chaired by African Union Commission, will also take place on Friday, 12 April 2012.

Seminar 'Moving towards a service delivery approach'

For participants of the Monitoring Sustainable WASH Service Delivery Symposium, taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, between 9 - 11 April 2013, IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre and the Institute of Development Studies organise the seminar 'Moving towards a service delivery approach: Introducing the concepts of service delivery, life-cycle costs approach and tracking progress'. The aim of this one-day event is to introduce the key concepts of service delivery including the life-cycle costs approach, and look at the trends and shifts in the water and sanitation sector while focusing on infrastructure to service delivery.

How can we engage in monitoring past High Level Meeting (HLM) commitments and preparing for the 2014 HLM?

Sanitation & Water for All (SWA) will share an update on the main achievements since the commitments tabled at the High Level Meetings (HLM). SWA will share plans for the launch of the global report on commitments and exchange ideas around how to prepare for the 2014 HLM, including the roll-out of national media campaigns and launch of the country preparation process.

Speakers: Darren Saywell, Vice-chair of SWA Steering Committee will be joined by SWA Steering Committee representatives for Africa and members of the SWA Secretariat.
