Uganda Country Programme | Strategy and Plan

The 2012 plan is the first Joint WASH Programme (JWP) elaborated in collaboration with SNV Uganda WASH. The overall goal and expected outcomes till 2016 form the framework in which the Outputs for 2012 are being presented in the downloadable document.

This factsheet gives a short overview of IRC activities and expertise in projects taking place in Uganda. Also included are some facts on the water, sanitation and hygiene situation in the country as of 2012.

Decentralized Learning in WASH

Experience with sector learning at decentralized level (i.e. Local Governance at district and sub-county levels) and interlinkages with regional level support and national level sector learning. Decentralized learning interlinks with IRC's multi-year thematic work on learning for change.

Writeshops for Capacity Development

An abundance of innovative ideas and knowledge exist in the water and sanitation (WASH) sector, also in Uganda. Due mostly to a lack of time or confidence in writing skills, these insights are seldom put on paper and shared with a wider audience. To stimulate the distribution of knowledge that is generated in various projects and organisations in the WASH sector, IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre organises three day writeshops at regular intervals, started in February 2012. During writeshops sector professionals get support to write publishable outputs.
