Mole Conference
Mole Conference is one of the biggest multi-stakeholder annual platforms in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector in Ghana. The Platform, named after the venue of the maiden edition, Mole in the Northern Region of Ghana, is organised by the Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation (CONIWAS) and brings together sector practitioners from NGOs, Government, Private Operators, Networks, CBOs, CSOs, etc. to dialogue, learn and share knowledge/ information on specific themes that affect the sector.
Ghana: Mole Conference calls for establishment of WASH fund for Capital Maintenance

Participants at the Mole Conference XXIII have called for the establishment of a national water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) fund to finance capital maintenance of facilities to ensure sustainability. This is because communities are not able to finance capital maintenance activities on their own leading to non-functionality of facilities.
IRC Ghana organises life-cycle cost training at Mole XXIII Conference

IRC Ghana has organised a Life-Cycle Cost Approach (LCCA) training for participants at the Mole Conference XXIII. The main message brought by facilitator Dr Nyarko, country director for WASHCost Ghana, was the need to properly budget for activities throughout the life-time of a system and he introduced participants to the various cost components involved.
Mole XXIII Conference to focus on sector financing

The annual Mole Conference series will this year focus on sector financing. The conference has been scheduled for August 21 - 25, 2012 in Tamale, Ghana. The theme for the 23rd edition of the Conference is ''Financing the WASH Sector: Past, Current and Vision for the future”.
