Working Paper 4 - De l’accès aux systèmes de distribution d’eau potable

Updated - Tuesday 05 June 2012

Working Paper 4 proposes an alternative methodology and different tools for learning about how populations access water services. The methodology looks at the national level and is based on the application of monitoring indicators in accordance with regulation standards that are enforced in Burkina Faso.

In this report, WASHCost Burkina Faso analyses current methods used by Burkinabé organisations to assess the accessibility of water facilities; and proposes an alternative method centered on the concept of service ladders and services levels. The two concepts are useful for developing and strengthening community management of water services in order to improve accessibility for community members.
