Costing Sustainable Services online course schedule 2013
WASHCost offers a free online course for WASH sector professionals. The “Costing Sustainable Services” online course was developed to assist governments, NGOs, donors and individuals to plan and budget for sustainable and equitable WASH services, using a life-cycle cost approach. Seminar 'Moving towards a service delivery approach'
For participants of the Monitoring Sustainable WASH Service Delivery Symposium, taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, between 9 - 11 April 2013, IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre and the Institute of Development Studies organise the seminar 'Moving towards a service delivery approach: Introducing the concepts of service delivery, life-cycle costs approach and tracking progress'. The aim of this one-day event is to introduce the key concepts of service delivery including the life-cycle costs approach, and look at the trends and shifts in the water and sanitation sector while focusing on infrastructure to service delivery.
Water Services that Last – the role of the Service Authority

IRC is pleased to announce an international learning and sharing event entitled “Water Services that Last – the role of the Service Authority”. This five day event, to be held between 12th and 16th November 2012 in the Netherlands, is aimed at senior WASH specialists working for development partners, NGOs or governments (national or local).

The third Costing Sustainable Services online course for WASH sector professionals is now open for registration.
WASH and climate change adaptation: Training of trainers workshop Nigeria 26 - 30 November 2012
This workshop is part of an initiative to promote the mainstreaming of climate change adaptation in the WASH sector through building the capacity of WASH sector professionals. The effort ultimately aims to influence the way that the WASH sector addresses the challenges posed by climate change through more and better activities that improve climate resilience. A draft training module has been developed by the IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre based upon the latest resources available internationally and within Nigeria. The training module combines information about climate change concepts and linkages with WASH, with the introduction of practical tools for planning climate change adaptation.
