IETC was established to further strengthen UNEP's role in sustainable urban and freshwater basin management. Relevant issues include Urban (water supply, urban waste management) and Freshwater (sewage, freshwater augmentation, waste water and storm water, public health problems). For these issues IETC enhances awareness, promotes the development, develops and establishes international/regional frameworks, etc.
