Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Development Cooperation (DGIS)

The Netherlands supports developing countries through various channels. These range from small-scale individual initiatives to World Bank development activities. A fixed budget of 0.8% of Gross National Product is reserved for development policy. The Millennium Goals are at the basis of Dutch development policy. Special attention is being devoted to education, the environment, water, AIDS and reproductive health care.
