The BRAC WASH programme: describing the core operational approaches, monitoring, evaluation and some results
This paper describes the major operational approaches of the BRAC WASH programme including monitoring, evaluation and some results. To carry out this study on water safety practices, use of sanitation facilities and self-reported water-related disease prevalence, a comparison was made between baseline (November 2006 to June 2007) and end-line (December 2010-February 2011) surveys done by the BRAC Research and Evaluation Division.
Improving menstrual hygiene facilities in secondary schools Initiatives from BRAC-WASH Program - Bangladesh
This paper describes the WASH in Schools activities of the BRAC-WASH program in Bangladesh. Along with financial support from school authorities, BRAC WASH is constructing separate sanitary latrines for girls with menstrual hygiene facilities in secondary schools. It also addresses the management and maintenance of the provided facilities.
The role of imams and different institution in hygiene promotion of BRAC WASH programme

BRAC Research and Evaluation Division

BRAC has various systems in place for monitoring the implementation of its programmes and their outcomes. A multi-disciplinary independent research unit within BRAC called the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) plays an important in monitoring progress and documenting achievements as well as challenges. The division undertakes impact assessment studies that help BRAC design and adjust its development interventions. A range of research publications on the BRAC WASH programmes is available on this website.

BRAC WASH programme
Abstract
The Government of Netherlands supported BRAC WASH initiative is a scaled up programme to bring sustainable water and sanitation to over 37 million people in a range of locations across the country. It is based upon carrying out a census of the existing situation and an intensively supported hygiene education based approach to encouraging lasting behaviour change. The case study describes the general approach and early progress in one location.
