IRCs 2013 symposium to be held in Ethiopia

IRCs regular international symposium has to date been held in the Netherlands, but as we decentralise more of our activities, this event will be held in 2013 in one of our new focus countries: Ethiopia. The symposium focuses on Monitoring Sustainable Service Delivery and will be hosted in Addis Ababa from 9-11 April 2013 with the support of the Ministry of Water and Energy.
Costing Sustainable Services training explored use of life-cycle cost approach in Ethiopia

The costing sustainable services training that took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, between the 8th -10th of May 2012 examined ways to improve the financing of water service delivery in Ethiopia and specifically to increase the sustainability of service delivery. The main gaps that were identified by participants were how to finance rehabilitation, maintenance and support to rural water service providers in Ethiopia.
RiPPLE established as an independent organisation

RiPPLE, established in 2006 as a research programme consortium, is evolving and growing and since April 2012 has been established as an independent organisation to serve the Ethiopian WASH sector. A new Executive Director has been appointed.
