AMREF is Africa's largest indigenous health charity and has worked to research and alleviate Africa's health problems. AMREF's activities are divided into five programme areas: Child and Adolescent; Health and Development; Sexual and Reproductive Health; Clinical Services and Emergency Response; Health Policy and Systems Reform; Environmental Health. AMREF incorporates the Flying Doctor Service who provide emergency aeromedical service in the region.
