CEPIS is the leading provider of sector information on the web in Latin America, with quite a large virtual library of downloadable documents. The centre cooperates with the countries of the Americas to evaluate and control environmental risk factors that affect the health of the population. It's part of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO). It's also a member of the Latin American Alliance of Resource Centres of the Streams of Knowledge Network.
