Japan is a large bilateral donor in the field of water supply and sanitation. JICA is responsible for the technical cooperation aspect of Japan's ODA programmes. Technical cooperation is aimed at the transfer of technology and knowledge that can serve the socio-economic development of partner countries. JICA is committed to address global issues, such as environmental conservation, poverty alleviation, and women in development.
