Conscious of the fact that the South-East Asia Region accounts for 40 per cent of the global disease burden, Member States of SEARO are making determined efforts to strengthen their health and surveillance systems. The ultimate objective is to ensure equitable accessibility of health care to all their people. Particular attention is being paid to the vulnerable and marginalized groups.
