This document, For all and forever; Improving sustainability, equity & monitoring in sanitation & hygiene systems and service provision presents key messages from the regional sanitation and hygiene practitioner's workshop held in Dhaka in 2012.
This 3rd regional workshop, organised by BRAC, WaterAid, IRC, and WSSCC, provided a platform for pan Asian experience illustrating progress that has been made in improving equitable and sustainable sanitation services, and in improving monitoring, but also pointed towards the challenges that remain.

The third bi-annual Asia Sanitation and Hygiene Practitioners’ workshop was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 31st January to 2ndFebruary 2012. It brought together some fifty Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) practitioners and researchers to share their diverse experience. The summary report 'For all and forever: improving sustainability, equity, monitoring in WASH' presents the main discussions and lessons. It also describes the participatory tools used and contains a summary of key points from the papers and photo essays.

Menstrual hygiene management firmly on the agenda of regional workshops

In the third bi-annual Asia Sanitation and Hygiene Practitioners’ workshop menstrual hygiene management was becoming an integral part of discussions. Both male and female participants felt comfortable to discuss this topic, a significant improvement after it was introduced in 2008 as being a neglected area. Notable progress was reported in implementing menstrual hygiene into WASH programmes.
