The WaterSHED program – which stands for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Enterprise Development – is a public-private partnership led by UNC’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. USAID provides support to WaterSHED through its Global Development Alliance (GDA), a program designed to harness the power of the marketplace to create economic opportunities, improve health outcomes, and promote sustainable models for financing development in Asia.
The web site includes detailed profiles for 5 of the 130 enterprises they work with as well as an overview of the WaterSHED 'Hands-Off' sanitation marketing model and other resources.
