Methodology of the WASH Governance Training
Updated - Thursday 08 September 2011
The manual consists of two parts:
- Ten training modules each comprising supporting power point presentations and handouts related to WASH governance.
- A Facilitator’s Guide that gives practical information on the learning objectives and the methodologies used in the modules and how they can be implemented
The programme format allows WASH trainers, facilitators and capacity builders to design their own training programme appropriate to their:
- Target audience
- Country context
- Sector challenges, and
- Specific content areas required
Each module comprises the following:
- Purpose of the module
- Learning objectives
- Programme outline
- Presentation
- Participants’ handouts
Targeting
Depending upon the needs and requirements of the target participants and their specific context, the modules can be put together to develop a tailor made programme. The methodology includes action research and examination of examples that are relevant to the participants’ own context. Presentation of case studies and site visits are also encouraged as complementary elements of this program, therefore reference to these and other complementary activities are made in the Facilitator’s guide.
Facilitators guide
To facilitate the use of the training modules, a comprehensive “how-to” guide will be developed.
