Tools for facilitating learning in thematic groups
Updated - Monday 26 September 2011
How do you facilitate sector learning? Or in the case of Honduras, how do you facilitate the learning in thematic groups, which work on the basis of the so-called 'double loop' learning theory, in which documentation of experiences and the spreading of lessons plays a key role in getting to new insights, technologies or methods of working.
To assist the coordinators in the facilitation and coordination of the thematic groups, RAS-HON translated parts of the IRC Facilitation Toolkit. This toolkit is a collection of documents explaining the concepts of capacity building, learning and facilitation, and provides a range of tools, methods, skill and exercises to put it into practice. The orginal toolkit, published in 2007 can be accessed, by following this link. The Spanish translation of the toolkit, which was published in 2010 can be found by clicking here.
Currently RAS-HON is working on a practical guide for moderation of events and facilitation of the thematic groups of CHRECIAS. The Spanish toolkit will form an integral part of the end product. The manual is expected to be published in the second half of 2011.
