The thematic group on academic development
The objective of this thematic group is to promote the participation of universities and academic institutions in different knowledge management activities in the water and sanitation sector. In this way, to promote scientific research and to strengthen knowledge, and obtain the interest and participation of students.
Background of the thematic group on academic development
The thematic group on academic development started its activities in 2010. The group was formed after a series of WASH related workshops and fora aimed at students, and to get them acquainted with the different institutions in the sector.
Currently the thematic group is being coordinated by the Peace Corps, and counts with members from CATIE, the Inter-Institutional Environmental Sciences Committee (CICA), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) from the World Health Organization (WHO), the national autonomous university of Honduras (UNAH), the catholic university of Honduras (UNICAH), the polytechnical university for engineering (UPI), the technological university of Honduras (UTH) and the Central American University of Technology (UNITEC).
