The work on Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene has been well recognized at the district level as well

Govinda Raj Rokaya, comment on Nepal: News from review meetings on Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All

I am very happy to see this news on the IRC website as thousands of people can see this. The work of SNV together with other actors has been successful to yield the concrete results in the most remotest part of Nepal.Out of 21 Village Development Committes (VDCs) that SNV is working in the mid western resion of Nepal through Sustainable Sanitatin and Hygiene for All (SSHA) with collaboration with Ausaid by the end of June, 15 VDCs have been declared as ODF. This progress is already more than 70% and I hope by the end of December that the programme will rund with this collaboration, there will be more than 90% progress. Besides this we as SNV work to capacitate the district level actors for improved planning, monitoring and coordination. We are placing our focus on strengthening multi-stakeholder process, ensuring sustainability of sanitation and hygine practices and employing local and affordable technological options to realized improved access to sanitation and hygiene in the areas where we work.
