Meetings are convenient and useful platforms for ongoing learning

Updated - Tuesday 26 October 2010

For organisational learning to be successful, good planning and design are required to make these gatherings a real learning tool. In 2005, IRC began having periodic meetings dedicated exclusively to learning and learning from each other – we refer to this as the Travel Free Week.

After a lot of hard work and behind-the-scenes preparation, the last Travel Free Week – which has since been renamed ‘IRC-nergy week’ for 2010 will take place from the 12 -15 October 2010.

IRC-nergy Week Format

  • Training sessions to beef up practical skills of all staff
  • Who is doing what – projects and programmes in different regions
  • Interactions with MT members and WMT
  • Social event and dinner

The main theme of this last IRC-nergy week will be innovation and the session will update IRC staff on:

  • Business plan 2012-2016
  • Annual Report 2010
  • PSO programme
  • Strategic communication, teleconferencing, Customer Relations Management and Advanced Excel
  • IRC thematic, regional and global programmes
  • News programs, WASH Cost and Triple S
  • Results and experiences from the Monitoring Protocol.

A blog has been recently created with “live” updates and reports on the learning experiences in future IRC-nergy weeks. You might want to have a look and see if you can learn from our learning!
