Water Integrity Network: Water, Corruption and Climate Change

Climate change will bring new challenges to contain corruption in the water sector, and adaptation measures might end up being largely ineffective due to corrupt practices if integrity, accountability and transparency are not put at the top of the agenda. This note, presented by Susannah Kinghan, elaborates some of these risks and ways of addressing them.

Adaptation of WASH services delivery to climate change...and other sources of risk and uncertainty

This presentation by A. J. James (IMaCS) presents the content of a Technical Overview Paper currently being developed with Charles Batchelor and Stef Smits (IRC). The presentation suggests an approach and methodology for WASH services planning which takes into account uncertainties caused by climate change, but also by other sources of risk. Particulalry scenario-based planning is highlighted as a promising tool.

Climate change and water resource use in the Azawak region, Niger

This presentation by Jeff Woodke (Jemed) highlights the impacts of climate change on water resources in the Azawak region of Niger. Although there are local adaptation measures in place, the presentation also calls for policy changes to make such adaptation more effective.
