Learning for sustainable rural water services in Uganda
Updated - Tuesday 07 September 2010
Developing a comprehensive learning framework for sustainable rural water services is key to the development of the WASH sector in Uganda. Jane Nabunnya of the Sustainable Services at Scale (Triple-S) project, Uganda, told this to Abu Wumbei of the WASH Resource Centre Network (RCN) Ghana at the Stockholm World Water Week (SWWW) Water Cube. See the video here.
The Sustainable Services at Scale (Triple-S) Project is working closely with the key sector actors in Uganda to develop a realistic strategic action plan for improved and sustainable rural water services. According to Jane the sustainability framework will focus on learning and will entail the sustainability of the facilities as well as the services. She was happy with the cooperation the project was receiving from government and all other sector actors and institutions in Uganda. Jane was positive that the Triple-S project is making a difference in the sustainability efforts in Uganda.
The Water Cube TV is creating a buzz for the second time in Stockholm, a joint effort by SIWI IRC and Akvo. Watch and listen to the interesting videos from Stockholm.
