Daily report national learning forum, 12 October 2009
Cases were presented on integrated water resources management during the first national learning forum in Uganda on 12 October 2009. In five World Cafés key factors were analysed such as participatory approaches at community level; multi-stakeholder platforms; value of data, research and pilot projects; sustainability of basin; lack of resources and capacities. Another five World Cafés were created and participants moved from one to the other to discuss the issues they wanted. The main areas in the Cafés were: local management structures; HP mechanics and other functional associations; MIS and M&E; Learning Platforms; support from politicians and staff.
