Factsheet IRC in Mozambique
15 May 12
In Mozambique, IRC supports a reflective and responsive ‘learning sector’, providing strategic support. In particular, IRC works with the National Directorate of Water (Direcção Nacional de Águas) and partners towards contributing to a well-governed sector capable of providing sustainable services within the context of decentralisation. IRC leverages its sector support strategy through linkages established with the Southern African Development Community sub-region (SADC). With the SADC sub-region’s relatively well-established platforms and initiatives for promoting and advocating sector learning and capacity building, collaboration with this sub-region is key to IRC’s work in Mozambique.
This factsheet gives a short overview of IRC activities and expertise in projects taking place in Mozambique. Also included are some facts on the water, sanitation and hygiene situation in the country.
