From 23 March to 3 April, the 6th series of LeaPPS learning sessions took place in Arua, Koboko, Kamwenge and Kyenjojo. Selected highlights from these sessions are presented here.
Learning session #8 Kyenjojo (November 09)

The 8th LeaPPS learning session for Kyenjojo district was held on November 26th. It focused on how to continue coordination and learning between government and civil society agencies and advocate for continued attention to software for sanitation and hygiene. Participants discussed different types of ecosan technologies and the reasons for promoting ecosan.
Learning session #8 Kamwenge (November 09)

The 8th LeaPPS learning session for Kamwenge district was held on November 24th and 25th 2009. It focused on how to continue coordination and learning between government and civil society agencies and advocate for continued attention to software for sanitation and hygiene. Topics discussed included O&M of water facilities and bye-law formation.
Learning session #8 Arua (December 09)

The 8th LeaPPS learning session was held in Arua town on December 3rd and 4th. It focused on how to continue coordination and learning between government and civil society agencies and advocate for continued attention to software for sanitation and hygiene. YODEO presented how the feedback from the previous session had been used to improve the construction of the school facilities.
Learning session #8 Koboko (December 09)

The 8th LeaPPS learning session was held in Koboko town on December 1st and 2nd. It focused on how to continue coordination and learning between government and civil society agencies and advocate for continued attention to software for sanitation and hygiene. The Honorary Omar Mahmud, secretary of Community Based Services in Koboko District opened the session.

Organisations and government offices at sub-county level in Uganda are playing a crucial role in the communication between district level organisations and the communities.
LeaPPs Kyenjojo Learning Session, August 2008

On 12 and 13 August, a fourth learning and sharing session took place in the district of Kyenjojo. The session included among others presentations on HIV/AIDS mainstreaming in sanitation and hygiene, the community health club concept, and experiences on a School Open Day.
LeaPPS Kamwenge Learning Session, August 2008

The fourth learning session in Kamwenge took place on 14 and 15. Important lessons learned and progress in sanitation and hygiene activities were shared by sub-county representatives, NGOs, and district level officers.
LeaPPS Koboko Learning Session, March 2008

This third learning session focused on facilitating better partnerships between government and civil society agencies to advocate for increased prioritization of software, sanitation and hygiene through facilitating sessions at district level including sub county stakeholders.
