Does IRC work with associates?
Since 2006 IRC works with associates, international sector specialists who will provide expertise and support for our projects on a flexible basis. IRC has three associates:
Charles Batchelor is a hydrologist with expertise in the following fields:
- integrated water resources management
- irrigated & rainfed crop production
- soil & water conservation
- water policy development
- water resource surveys & assessments of the impact of agriculture practices on water resources & water quality.
Jan Teun Visscher is a former IRC director with working expertise in:
- integrated water supply and environmental sanitation
- water treatment
- community management
- hygiene promotion
- monitoring and evaluation
- institutional development
- mediation and conflict resolution.
Joshka Wessels is a professional film maker with a water sector background and has expertise in the following fields:
- Management of applied action research on integrated water resource management (IWRM): project design, participatory approaches, fieldwork, analysis and reporting;
- More than ten years experience in writing, filming, directing and producing documentaries for development and environment both broadcast and non-broadcast;
- Valued expertise in the co-ordination, development and implementation of training in (participatory) video and communication strategies specifically for the sector areas of environment, water and biodiversity;
- Expert training on project cycle management and logframes for development specialists.
