Contactgroep Internationaal
The “Contactgroep internationaal” of Koninklijk Nederlands Waternetwerk (formerly KVWN/NVA) held a Symposium on Corruption in the Water Sector on 12 February 2009.
"The water world becomes more and more international. Dutch engineers and scientists are increasingly involved in drinking water and wastewater projects all over the world each day. At home and abroad, one of the most difficult challenges to deal with is being confronted with corruption. Corruption affects all aspects of the water sector, from water resources management to drinking water services, irrigation and hydropower."

Launch of Global Corruption Report on water by TI
New report shows how corruption undermines the global response to the water crisis, climate change and food shortages.
Corruption in the water sector is a root cause and catalyst for the global water crisis that threatens billions of lives and exacerbates environmental degradation, according to the Global Corruption Report 2008: Corruption in the Water Sector, released in New York on 25 June 2008 by Transparency International (TI).
