Facts and figures on some IRC publications

In April, May and the first half of June 2007 IRC has published the following titles:
- Organisation des services locaux de documentation du secteur de l'eau et de l’assainissement: Recommandations´. This is a translation by CREPA of the revised English version ´Organising Local Documentation Services for the Water and Sanitation Sector: guidelines´.
- Learning Alliances: Scaling up innovations in water, sanitation and hygiene, a collection of revised papers from the Symposium on Learning Alliances. Edited by Stef Smits, Patrick Moriarty and Christine Sybesma.
- Enhancing Livelihoods Through Sanitation, a TOP written by Maria-Lùcia Borba, Jo Smet and Christine Sybesma.
- Gestión del conocimiento y la información en el sector de agua y saneamiento. This is the Spanish translation by CINARA of the TOP on Knowledge Management, written by Jan Teun Visscher, Jaap Pels, Viktor Markowski, and Sascha de Graaf.
- Gestion intégrée des ressources en eau. This is the French translation of the TOP on Integrated Water Resources Management, written by Patrick Moriarty and John Butterworth.
Promotion
A number of papers have been promoted on other web sites and discussed in international journals:
- The IRC OP ´Action-learning: building on experience´, published in 1993(!) has been included on a CD-ROM called ’Child-centred responses to HIV and AIDS: Memory work´, distributed by Healthlink free of charge to about 2500 contacts in developing countries who don´t have access to Internet.
- The TOP ´Arsenic in Drinking Water´ was promoted on the EHP website. The TOP was also mentioned in the EH Update (May 2007) of the WHO Regional Office South East Asia.
- The TOP ´About Corruption and Transparency in the Water and Sanitation Sector´ was promoted on the Water Integrity Network website with a direct link to the PDF on their site and a link to the IRC publication web pages. It was also mentioned in the Journal of Indian Water Works Association where it was used as the basis for an editorial. The same journal also mentioned the TOP ´Multi Stage Filtration´ written by CINARA staff:.
- Patricia Mantey, Knowledge Management Specialist, Hygiene Improvement Project and Palitha Jayaweera, Programme Director, COSI found the TOP ´Knowledge Management in the Water and Sanitation Sector´ very useful. This comment has been published on the monitor pages of the IRC web site.
