0. Introduction
Updated - Tuesday 20 March 2007
This TOP offers a broad overview of partnerships as applied in the water and sanitation sector. The content is therefore aimed primarily at practitioners in the sector but is sufficiently generic to be of interest and use to workers in other sectors.
Since partnerships cover a rather complex subject area the TOP aims to identify and examine the more important issues rather than provide an in-depth study. However, in common with all TOPs it does provide ample scope for further study through a comprehensive reference list of books, papers, websites, conferences and research programmes.
The main body of the text is divided into three sections, respectively headed Partnerships in Theory, Partnerships in Practice and Cases and Examples. This Summary is similarly sub-divided.
