The Seventh Video: excellent advocacy tool
The Seventh Video on Community Water Supply Management produced in 2000 is an appeal to decision makers to support rural communities in their efforts to manage their water supplies. It has shown to be an excellent advocacy tool for decision makers, sector professionals and the general public.
How to use the Seventh Video
The Seventh Video on community water supply management has been compiled from six country-specific videos made on the subject. For people working in the water sector the images will be very familiar. They show the daily ups and downs in community water supply management. Watching the video will raise discussions and remarks. Here are the key messsages and questions that can be asked.

The ‘Seventh video’ raises many important governance issues
“The video raises many important governance issues, like partnerships and not to leave everything to communities, transparency in funds management, gender and equity for disadvantaged groups. It helps us see these issues more clearly.” “I have used it in several trainings here, to send the message”. These are two of the 11 comments made on the Seventh Video on Community Water Supply Management by eight participants of the WASH Governance Testing Workshop held in Morogoro, Tanzania, 17th and 18th November 2011.
