Overview - JPO programme
IRC managed the JPO programme in collaboration with resource centres in developing countries. Twelve JPOs participate in the programme: four from the IRC in the Netherlands and eight from the resource centres. Each of the four Dutch JPOs spent a period of 15 months at one of the resource centres, followed by a further 15 months at another. In exchange, resource centres sent their JPOs to IRC for a stationing of 17 months.
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn
Issiaka Kante, Junior Programme Officer from Burkina Faso, used this quote during the JPO E-conference which was held in the period July-September 2004, in which JPOs and ex-JPOs have been sharing stories and ideas in order to evaluate the IRC JPO programme.
