Survey on women's income generation
Updated - Tuesday 17 February 2009
An environmental impact assessment was carried out in coastal zone communities in Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka. The results show that for four conditions (general, water supply, sanitation and solid waste disposal) the scores had improved in all three intervention communities (12 positive scores). In the control communities, conditions had stayed the same in six cases, worsened in three cases and improved in only two cases: sanitation and solid waste in the Indian control community had improved.
