Peter J. Bury

Peter is a member of the IRC Africa Team and has been living and working from Italy since 2002.  He is currently (2012) also a member of the Uganda Country Program and East Africa sub-Regional Programme (EARP) team on communication, learning, governance, strategic sector planning and related acquisition. Within the PSO funded Resource Centre Networks for Sector Learning (RCN4SL), coaching the Uganda network coordinator and within the Thematic Learning for Change team contributing to systematisation of learning and innovation in related fields. Since early 2012 member of the Burkina Faso Country Program within the wider West Africa Regional Programme - Francophone (WARP-F). Member of the WA-WASH Knowledge Management team (KMteam) promoting and developing capacity in WASH sector knowledge management in West Africa. Member of the IRC Linking & Learning team within the Dutch WASH Alliance program. Regular assignments in Training and Advisory work in a broad range of WASH sector areas with an emphasis on process facilitation. Editor of the IRC acquired, an IRC internal publication monitoring acquisition of external work. Regular multi-media blogger on topics related to WASH and Knowledge Management in the wide sense of the term.

MSc. Geography and Planning (Amsterdam) with over 35 years experience in process and network facilitation and capacity building related to decentralisation, integrated development, socio-economic planning, natural resources management, community management, PPP, project cycle management, information and knowledge management, training, ICT, social networking and web2.0. Long term assignments with UNDP and GTZ GmbH in west and southern Africa and in the Pacific. Short-term assignments in Bénin, Burkina Faso, Sénégal, Ghana, Cameroon, Gabon, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Egypt, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Japan, Vanuatu, Western Samoa, French Polynesia, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Spain, Poland, Germany.
