Five KM case studies Learn@WELL

The harvest of two years of working on knowledge management under the Learn@WELL module.
On KM:
- KM is essentially about managing people’s activity
- Focus on knowledge sharing mechanisms and practices
- Value knowledge as key asset
- KM starts (and fails) at personal level and aims at organisational change
Design of the KM Learn@WELL module:
- Designed by IRC & WEDC – odd one out module
- Provide materials on KM; start communication
- Face to face workshop organised by WELL partner
- Mentor, monitor by IRC & WEDC
Results thus far:
- Articles: WaterLines, 30th WEDC and KM4DEV www.km4dev.org/journal issue 2: Design of and practical experiences with the Learn@WELL knowledge management module (also on www.irc.nl/km)

The presentations on KM case studies by IWSD Zimbabwe, SEUF India, TREND Ghana, AMREF Kenya and NWRI Nigeria presented at the WEDC conference in Uganda 2005.
