Closing and seeking advice for November

Jan Teun Visscher - Tuesday 20 September 2005

The third week of the Conference has come to a close and I thank you all for your contributions. The period of discussion was extended by another 5 days to obtain some more inputs. As few additional contributions came in I have extended my previous summary with a few comments and this I will post separately.

Indeed participation increased in comparison with the 2nd week, but still a more active sharing of ideas and suggestions would be welcome. I have found by talking to a number of people that several follow the conference, but do not contribute themselves perhaps because they cannot give it priority in their work. It may also be that they are not satisfied with the way the conference develops or perhaps they like another aspect to be highlighted.

I would like to offer all of you therefore the opportunity to provide your suggestions for the final week of the conference.

The theme for the last week of the conference that is planned for the period 4-14 November 2005 builds upon the others three E-discussions. The proposed topic is ‘Spreading the word in the WATSAN sector’. As you can find on the website two questions were raised for discussion:
How to get our understanding of KM across in the WATSAN sector?
How to create awareness and share knowledge in the WATSAN sector?

My question is whether these are the issues you really want to discuss or do you prefer to highlight another issue? Please send your feedback to me directly at visscher@irc.nl latest by October 6 so I can take it into account when preparing the note for November.
