We share Knowledge we manage
Ratan Budhathoki - Thursday 08 September 2005
Dear all,
Greetings from Nepal on this third round of KM E-conference.
I am Ratan Budhathoki, working as Information and Knowledge Manager for an organization 'Nepal Water For Health (NEWAH) in Nepal.
My contribution to the Topic of this How to share Knowledge that we manage.... would be,
First of all following aspects are essential to share knowledge:
Knowledge in different packages i.e. in the form of Books, Mannuals, Leaflets, Posters, Newsletters, CD, Video etc.
Then we need the audience at different level: personal, ogranizational and network level.
Of course it has to demand driven instead of supply driven. however it may not always be possible to find such situation. thus you may have to initiate from your end to encourage others to share knowlede, create environment for sharing knowledge (i.e. organizing workshop, interaction programs) and facilitate the process of knowledge sharing.
in our organization, we share knowledge through these appraches:
Monday staff meeting
Monthly meeting at regional office level
Quarterly staff meeting
Annual planning meeting
Annual Review meeting
internal orientation
Exposure visit and briefing
Internal information paper (for staff)
using E-mail, Telephone
organizing training workshop and interaction programs.
these are some of the points at the moment.
will appreciate comments and suggestion in this regards,
with regards
Ratan
