Tackling Corruption

N.R.Chilukuri- India, comment on Transparency e-conference 2005 – Summary Week 1 [ongoing]

Many suggested various ways to reduce corruption and are mostly educative. But I personally feel that fear of punishment and confisication of assets acrued will go a lomg way in reducing corruption. Most importantly one must follow time frame in investigation and in executing the orders of the investigating agency. In tackling corruption cases time is very important and should be adhered to.
To detect corrupt practices every project must have Monitoring Agency composed of elderly people experienced in the subject and people from public of the area will go a long way to know the facts of the execution of the project and their observations on money management will help investigating agencies to come to conclusions faster.
