Awareness of KM at Management level
Marjory Kusotera - Tuesday 31 May 2005
Experiences in our organisation have shown that KM implementation is easier if the top levels understand and buy into the idea. Making sure management understand the meaning and contribution of KM to the efficiency of the organisation will ensure that they support efforts to put KM systems in place. It becomes easier for those downstream to easily accept the changes that come with the implementation of knowledge management. Thhis becomes an opportunity in some cases to groom and equip junior personnel. Information is passed down through work processes as those rich in knowledge resource share and use such knowledge to develop others and come up with better methods of utilising the vast knowledge in human resources within the organisation.
