To know each other ..
M.I.Zuberi - Monday 30 May 2005
Dear Participants,
Yes Mr Bury, you are right. One of the main aim of the Conference was to know each other, interact and go for better KM in our field. But I see many of us are not interested enough to go along this line, there is less enthusiasm. We have to revitalize !
I am M.I.Zuberi, a university teacher in Bangladesh (teaching
genetics, bioidiversity and environment) and also work with local NGOs (more than a dozen) on KM. I am doing this for more than 3 decades, and I know how KM is lacking among these NGOs and community groups. What they need is KM and a little push (fund and organizational) for endogenous, sustainable development.
May be in WATSAN, on poverty, on sustainable resource management - all these are interlinked and inseperable - any aspect of development you name , the same approach eg 'KM and small push' can only enable us to attain the goal.
I have seen "Health for all by 2000", I am seeing "Millenium
Development Goal' now, I have seen so many national and donor-funded, international projects on poverty etc - all failed and will fail if we do not address the need of KM.
When I first join IRC's KM e-conference first, I was hoping that IRC
can go ahead and in the field on WATSAN we can demonstrate that 'KM and little push' can help us to attain the goal. Still I am waiting to see this.
I am willing to go ahead with this approach with my NGO friends if
someone come join us with inputs we need.
Thank you for this round of KM e-conference,
