I think, to get management levels enthusiastic on KM means made managers
sure for KM benefits and advantages.

1. Do managers have to be ‘knowledge champions’ or look after lessons
learned and knowledge sharing?

If managers are aware for KM benefits and advantages they have to be
‘knowledge champions’. From management goal these KM benefits and advantages
should be clearly identified and have real economic context. Managers are
interested whether in KM case a project cost will be reduced and its
efficeincy will be improved. They would like be sure that KM properly works
for project output and outcome.

2. Can a KM workshop help or should KM be a regular topic in meetings? Is
KM addressed in annual reports and is it linked to organisational goals?

Taking existing shortage of KM specific workshops and regular topic in
meetings could be aimed resolve this bottleneck. Managers and teams should
be learned how they can fit KM at whole process by the best way. To present
day KM addressed in annual reports and linked to organisational goals in
implicit state.

3. How to get alignment between management priorities and KM opportunities
and contributions? What would be a good KM pilot project for management to
buy into?

To get this alignment it is needed to use management language which is
pragmatic one based on cost-benefit analysis, management efficeincy, etc. A
good KM pilot project on the issue could be specify KM benefits and
advantages in the terms of management at the water and sanitation sector.
