Water Management with a Difference

Updated - Friday 21 November 2003

Directed by Cyrille Bitting, produced by PAID-WA (Pan-African Institute for Development West Africa) and WSMC (Water and Sanitation Management Consultants in Cameroon) (2001)

This is the story of the people from Nkouandja who took their water supply management into their own hands. The 25-minute video (English subtitles) shows how the community had to overcome several problems, such as conflicts regarding the water supply management, and a lack of funds after a contractor ran off with the money intended for extensions of the water supply system. The video shows that building a strong community structure can help to counter these problems.

Target audience: staff working in the water sector, field staff, policy makers, developers of training material and trainers.
