The updated training package is designed as a guide to facilitators who will conduct courses or workshops on management of operation and maintenance of rural water supply and sanitation services.The aim of this training package is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of water supply and sanitation services by highlighting the importance of community participation with a right gender balance. The original package (produced in 1991) was based on material and documentation of global experiences provided by various agencies and institutions in the water supply and sanitation sector. In comparison to the earlier version, this updated version incorporates recent developments and the latest findings and methodologies.
