Bolivia: new basic sanitation foundation created and public sanitation company closed

New basic sanitation foundation FUNDASAB [1] created by the Deputy Ministry of Basic Services, with support of the European Union, the German technical cooperation agency (GTZ), and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Tasks of FUNDASAB are the implementation of technical assistance and modernisation programs and activities in the area of basic sanitation services.
FUNDASAB will be tasked with implementing technical assistance and modernization programs and activities in the area of basic sanitation services. The governing council of FUNDASAB consists of the deputy ministry, basic sanitation regulator SISAB and the country's sanitary and environmental engineering association ABIS.
EMSA bankrupt
Cochabamba public sanitation company Emsa, established to provide waste collection and street cleaning services for the city, will close down this week due to bankruptcy. An interim company will carry on operations for three months. The city will invite micro-enterprises to perform cleaning, collection and haulage services.
