Guidelines for E-conference participation
Updated - Thursday 17 March 2005
There are a few guidelines you should remember as a participant in this E-Conference:
1. You can view this forum on the web site at http://www.irc.nl/kmwatsan. To add your contributions you have to be registered first and have received a password. After that you will also automatically receive every message via your personal e-mail.
Those with limited or no access to internet can also e-mail their contributions to kmwatsan@forum.watsan.net. Important: do not reply to notifications! Replies to notifications, such as this one or forum messages, are not automatically added as contributions in the forum.
2. Once you have registered you can only post messages after logging in using the name and login from your IRC website account.
If you wish to use multiple e-mail addresses (e.g. a work and a private e-mail address), you have to register both as described before.
3. In your first message introduce yourself so that we “know each other.
4. If you want to post a new message, use the “Post a message button at the bottom of any forum page. This results in the latest message showing first.
5. If you want to comment on an existing message you can use the “Post a message button too, but check the box before “Reply to this message. This results in a thread of messages, with the last one appearing at the bottom.
6. Our forum system gives your message automatically a unique number, which appears in the alert you receive via e-mail for each posted message. It also appears in the web address of the message. Please use that number if you refer to one of the messages.
7. Respect the objectives and topics of the conference. We expect to read messages and documents about the very specific issue of Knowledge Management for the Water and Sanitation sectors. But we welcome experiences with KM from other sectors.
8. For any technical support you may need in contributing to the forum you can contact Harry Oosterveen
