Tsunami causes devastation: how IRC helps

IRC as an organisation is involved in several initiatives, mainly in collaboration with the Netherlands Water Partnership. 

  • An integrated emergency plan on water, sanitation and hygiene, discussed at the donor conference on January 6th in Jakarta;
  • A series of one day free of charge Briefing Programmes for emergency aid workers;
  • A Question and Answer service on WASH topics;
  • Fact-sheets and links on practical and relevant information which can be consulted by relief organisations, local authorities and many others.

IRC staff is encouraged to donate money via various channels including the Dutch giro 555 of the national campaign of collaborating aid agencies and an in-house collection. 

IRC provides information and knowledge support on water, sanitation and related environmental and hygiene issues in developing countries. Please keep in mind that we are not a funding agency.
