Information Products and Services
IRC provides news about developments and forthcoming events in the water sector. IRC also offers public access to a huge bank of information and interactive tools, including a question and answer service, to help you find what you are looking for.
IRC WASH Library
IRC has made its library digitally available so that everyone around the world has access to it. Books, articles, thesis papers, DVDs and tools on water, sanitation and hygiene issues are available online via links and PDFs. New documents are added to the extensive database on a regular basis.
Training
Training is a critical part of capacity building in the water, health and governance sectors. We recognise that training is a key channel for catalysing sector change and in developing and maintaining human capacities in the sector. IRC has taken a strategic decision to once again make training a core activity in The Hague and within our focus countries and regions.
E-Source
E-Source provides WASH news and features in English, French and Spanish with an emphasis on rural and peri-urban areas in developing countries.
Source Bulletin is a special features edition which is also published in a PDF version.

Field story contest
Stories about communities and interventions that helped (or failed!) to improve the sanitation and hygiene situation and provide valuable lessons from WASH experiences and practices.
Stories here do not necessarily reflect the views of IRC. Stories are published in good faith to promote better communication and community voices. IRC is not responsible for the completeness, accuracy or reliability of any information contained.
Publications
Over the years IRC has (co-)published more than 100 books, pamphlets and papers on key water and sanitation topics. New titles are added on a regular basis. An increasing number of these are available online, free of charge. This includes the series of Thematic Overview Papers (TOPs), which combine recent experiences, expert opinions and foreseeable trends with links to the most informative publications, websites and research information.
InterWATER Thesaurus
The InterWATER Thesaurus can be used for indexing information; for searching or retrieving information; and as a translation tool for English, French and Spanish water and sanitation terms.
InterWATER organisations
InterWATER offers information about more than 650 organisations and networks in the water supply and sanitation sector, related to developing countries. Each organisation has a short description, contact details, e-mail and website address, and related sites where applicable.
Please note: we are not able to check the information on a regular basis. If you would like to have your contact details updated, please let us know.
Advisory services
Are you looking for IRC’s technical advisory support? We can help you with the development, formulation, appraisal and evaluation of programmes, potentially combined with various capacity building activities.
Ask IRC & KnowledgePoint
Do you have a question on water and sanitation issues? Ask your question here.
This page provides updates on KnowledgePoint, a collaborative helpdesk service currently developed by a core group of organisations: WaterAid, Practical Action, RedR, EngineerAid and IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre. The KnowledgePoint initiative has won a small grant from the Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) to develop the test model.
Further down the page you will find links to selected web resources.
Webinars
The IRC webinars are an initiative from the IRC team working on innovations in WASH. This team seeks to enhance learning and sharing of lessons on innovations in the WASH sector. Monthly lunch meetings are organised for IRC staff and broadcasted via the web so that others can follow, or download the presentation and discussion.
